New arrests in the "Baba Alino" scandal
The pre-trial proceedings in the "Baba Alino" case, conducted by the Varna District Prosecutor's Office, are expanding. A 70-year-old former employee of the "Primorski" district has been detained, accused of preparing official documents with false content.
The man has been held criminally liable for certifying false circumstances regarding the construction of 20 residential buildings on three land plots during the period from May to July 2023.
Investigation details:
- The defendant certified that the buildings were constructed before March 31, 2001, which grants them the status of "tolerated" structures.
- At present, there is another defendant in the case – a 48-year-old freelance surveyor.
- The current investigation is part of a series of five total proceedings in the District Prosecutor's Office related to the development of the area.
Currently, the detained employee is under a 72-hour detention order, and the prosecution has submitted a request for his permanent detention in custody to the Varna District Court. Another pre-trial proceeding is being conducted under the supervision of the Regional Prosecutor's Office.
