In appreciation of the humanity and professionalism shown during their most difficult moment, the mother of the 5-year-old child contacted the Border Police. She expressed her deep gratitude to the officers, stating: "There are moments that one never forgets. Moments where the fear is so great that all you can do is pray and hope that someone will help. Thank you for being there. Thank you for fighting for our child. Thank you for giving us hope in that terrible moment."
The incident, which fortunately ended with the child's full recovery, took place on September 7 in Primorsko. The little boy, who is now back home with his family after a hospital stay, was saved thanks to the swift intervention of Junior Inspector Angel Mladenov and Junior Inspector Miloslav Markov. The two officers were in the area during a specialized police operation when a bystander stopped them to report a child lying in front of a nearby hotel who was in urgent need of help.
Upon reaching the scene, the officers found that the child was unresponsive and not breathing. Without wasting time, they began resuscitation efforts: Angel Mladenov performed rescue breaths, while Miloslav Markov assisted him. After several critical minutes, the child began to breathe, his complexion returned to normal, and he moved his arm. The border police officers remained with him until the arrival of an emergency medical team, which transported the child to the hospital.
The Border Police announced the case today, as part of World First Aid Day, to highlight how crucial a quick reaction is in the first few minutes before medical teams can intervene. This successful example of saving a human life combined the experience of Junior Inspector Miloslav Markov, who has 23 years of service, and the determination of his colleague Angel Mladenov, who has been part of the Border Police force for less than a year.
