Large fire near Harmanli: 100 decares of forest and valuable timber incinerated

A large-scale fire near the village of Rogozinovo has destroyed 100 decares of poplar forest and dozens of cubic meters of timber. Firefighting crews remain on-site to finish extinguishing the blaze.

Fire in Haskovo District: 100 Decares of Forest Destroyed

A severe fire broke out in the area of the village of Rogozinovo, Harmanli Municipality, in the Haskovo district. The fire covered an area of nearly 100 decares, including a poplar forest and a clearing with timber prepared for transport.

According to initial information, one of the main theories for the cause of the incident is the operation of logging machinery in the area.

Damages and Situation Control

About 60 cubic meters of poplar timber were destroyed in the fire. Thanks to the quick response of the firefighters and volunteers from the village of Rogozinovo, the flames were contained, preventing further spread.

Chief Inspector Plamen Petkov confirmed that all theories are being investigated, and active work is underway to establish the exact circumstances that led to the disaster.
