Sozopol Municipality presented its annual report for the period November 2024 – November 2025, highlighting the main achievements and key initiatives. The report includes a stable financial balance, infrastructure development, expansion of social activities, modernization of the educational and sports environment, as well as record growth in tourism.
Financial stability: The municipality maintains a budget of BGN 45.3 million and reduces the municipal debt to BGN 13.85 million. Growth in local revenues has been noted, including from tourist tax, real estate, and household waste fees.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure projects such as the rehabilitation of road sections and repairs of facilities, including digitalization of parking systems, have been completed.
Tourism: Record growth of 5.3% overnight stays with an increase in foreign tourists.
Social policy: Good coverage of social services, including home patronage and assistant support. Financial support for childbirth and treatment, as well as improved services for children at risk.
Education and sports: Sozopol is declared European City of Sport 2025, with 14 active sports clubs and over 24 medalists.
Culture: Rich cultural calendar with festivals like 'Apollonia' and 'The Muses'. The 'Sozopol – Cultural Horizons' project supports the local cultural ecosystem.
Projects under development: Renovation of the Summer Theater, modernization of ports, energy measures in municipal buildings, residential care for people with disabilities, integrated healthcare for children, expansion of Lesopark 'St. Marina'.
Mayor Tihomir Yanakiev emphasized the importance of the achievements and the commitment to future development.
