For the first time in its 109-year history, the Giro d’Italia will start from Bulgaria, and Burgas will be the host. Prior to that, on May 7, 2026, the cycling tour Giro d’Pomorie will be held in Pomorie, dedicated to the event.
Program:
- 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. - Receiving starting numbers and materials
- 9:15 - 9:45 a.m. - Technical conference
- 10:00 a.m. - Official start from the Salt Museum, Pomorie
- 1:00 p.m. - Awards ceremony in front of the town hall of the village of Medovo
Right to participate: All licensed competitors in the Bulgarian Cycling Federation for 2026 – older boys, younger juniors and younger girls, older girls.
Competition route:
- Salt Museum – “Evropa” St. – “Solna” St. – “Knyaz Boris I” St. – “Manastirska” St. – Vinprom “Pomorie”, to the Kamenar quarter.
- Start: Kamenar quarter – Kableshkovo town – Medovo village – Bata village – Stratsin village – Prosenik village – Sini Rid village (37 km total)
Awards: The first three in each age group will be awarded.
