From August 26 to 29, the "Arena Burgas" sports hall will host the qualifying stage matches of the Futsal Champions League. The Bulgarian champion, "Amigo Severozapad," will take part in the tournament, marking a historic moment as it is the first time Burgas will host matches from the most prestigious club tournament on the Old Continent.
The draw for the preliminary qualifying round was held back in early July. It placed the Bulgarian champions in Group H, where "Amigo Severozapad" will face the champions of Finland, Moldova, and Andorra – the teams of "Futsal Mad Max," "FC Clic Chisinau," and "Rangers FC," respectively. Tickets for the upcoming matches can be purchased through the Eventim partner network, and organizers have clarified that all proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to charity. Furthermore, the matches will be broadcast live on BNT3.
Manol Todorov, Deputy Mayor of Burgas for Sports and Tourism, commented on the upcoming event: "For us as a host city, it is extremely prestigious to host an event of this caliber. We hope the upcoming matches will turn into a true football celebration – and not just for fans from the Burgas region. Supporters from all over Bulgaria are welcome to come and support the Bulgarian champion." For his part, the president of "Amigo Severozapad," Bilyan Balinov, shared: "We are very happy that our team will be hosting these qualifiers. We thank the Municipality of Burgas for the support they have provided us from the very beginning. We will strive to delight the Bulgarian audience with attractive play and positive results."
As a reminder, at the end of last season, the "Amigo" team, under the leadership of head coach Delyan Koychev, secured their fourth national championship title in an undisputed manner. The team finished the campaign without a single loss, achieving an impressive record of 23 wins and 1 draw.
