Burgas at the center of the global cycling event Giro d'Italia
For the first time in its 109-year history, the prestigious cycling race Giro d'Italia will start from Bulgaria, with the city of Burgas serving as the main hub of this large-scale event.
The program includes the team presentation on May 6 at the Summer Theatre, the finish of the first stage on May 8, and the start of the second stage on May 9.
Due to the massive scale of the event, significant changes will be made to traffic organization and several central streets in the city will be temporarily closed.
Where can you park for free?
To minimize inconvenience for residents and visitors, the Municipality of Burgas and its partners have provided special buffer parking areas. From May 6 to May 9, parking will be free at the following locations:
- Part of the parking area at the “Metro” supermarket;
- The second level of the “Grand Plaza” mall;
- Part of the parking area at “BILLA” Trapezitsa.
Additional options for May 8 and 9:
- The parking lot of Burgas State University “Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov”;
- The far-right lanes of “Odrin” Street (between “Trapezitsa” and the “Lukoil” gas station);
- The far-right lanes of “San Stefano” Boulevard (between “Stefan Stambolov” Boulevard and “Demokratsia” Street).
Important: We recommend planning your routes in advance and using the interactive map of closed streets to avoid traffic congestion.
