The General Directorate "Metrological Supervision" (GDMS) conducted planned inspections of 15 district heating companies across the country, including in Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Burgas, Ruse, and others. The object of the inspection were a total of 1130 measuring instruments (MI), distributed almost equally between heat meters (588 pieces) and water meters (542 pieces), the State Agency for Metrological and Technical Supervision (DAMTN) announced to BTA.
Violations were found at two of the inspected companies - in the territory of Sofia and Galabovo.
The measuring instruments were checked for technical condition, correct use, and the presence of metrological control marks. It was found that 16 pieces of measuring instruments – 14 heat meters, and 2 water meters are used without valid marks from a subsequent check.
The results of the inspections show that the relative share of measuring instruments found to not meet the requirements of the Measurement Act remains the same as in the previous year - about 1.4 percent.
For the established violations, the administrative penalty actions provided for in the Measurement Act will be taken, namely - drawing up and serving acts for establishing administrative violations for non-fulfillment of obligations under the provisions of the relevant law.
In implementation of the approved plan of GDMS for the first quarter of 2026, a planned metrological supervision was carried out on: "Toplofikacia Sofia" EAD, "Toplofikacia Pernik" AD, "Toplosnabdiavane Bansko" EOOD, "Toplofikacia-Pleven" AD, "Toplofikacia" AD - Montana, "Toplofikacia-Vratsa" EAD, "Toplofikacia - Ruse" AD, "Toplofikacia - Razgrad" AD, "Toplofikacia-VT" AD - Veliko Tarnovo, "Veolia Energy Varna" EAD, "Toplofikacia-Burgas" AD, "Toplofikacia-Sliven-inj. Angel Angelov" EAD, "EVN Bulgaria Toplofikacia" EAD - Plovdiv, "Yuliko-Evrotreid" EOOD – Stamboliyski and "Brikell" EAD - Galabovo.
