FC "Dobrudzha 1919" is facing a severe financial crisis and a real danger of liquidation, the club's temporary management warned. After a meeting with representatives of the previous administration, it became clear that the known liabilities and financial claims exceed 155,000 euros, and the final sum could be even higher.
Interim manager Georgi Stoyanov points out that full documentation for all unpaid invoices, services, and other obligations has not yet been handed over. This means that the club does not have a definitive picture of its financial state.
Accumulated salaries, taxes, and claims
Unpaid social security contributions and corporate tax alone amount to approximately 59,000 euros. The wages owed to footballers for June and July are 36,273 euros, and former players have financial claims of approximately 60,000 euros.
These three groups of liabilities reach a total of about 155,000 euros, without including any other potential receivables from suppliers and contractors in the calculation.
According to Stoyanov, the club's bank accounts have been frozen. This severely hinders normal payments to footballers, employees, and suppliers, as well as the daily organization of the team.
According to him, former chairman Sergey Serafimov refused to settle the accumulated debts to the players. Currently, there is no external source provided to cover the salaries and bonuses agreed upon by the previous management.
Risk of liquidation
The crisis unfolded after the General Assembly on August 14, when the resignations of the seven members of the Management Board, including Sergey Serafimov, were accepted. At that time, the club was left without an elected permanent management.
Georgi Andreev Stoyanov took over the management on an interim basis, and a new General Assembly is scheduled for September 17 at 5:30 PM in the "Izida" conference hall in Dobrich. The agenda includes a potential decision to dissolve the association and initiate liquidation proceedings.
Upon adopting such a decision, the members of the association will have to appoint a liquidator and define their powers. The alternative is to elect a new management with a clear financial plan and a commitment to stabilize the club.
Call for a joint plan
The temporary management is insisting on a meeting with the mayor of Dobrich, Yordan Yordanov, local businesses, and the football community. The goal is to draft a realistic plan to cover the most urgent expenses and ensure a sustainable management model.
"The waiting time is running out. Every passing day increases liabilities and reduces the chances for salvation. We want full transparency regarding the club's financial situation. We want all liabilities to be identified and documented. We want accountability for the accumulated debts. We want work to start immediately on a real rescue plan," stated Georgi Stoyanov.
The club has already opened a special donation account and called on fans, citizens of Dobrich, and local businesses for financial support. The management indicates that the collected funds will be used for the needs of the team and the players.
"Let us sit at one table and find a solution. Liquidation should be the last, not the first option. FC Dobrudzha 1919 must be saved. Dobrich deserves its football club!" urged Stoyanov.
The match against Marek
Despite the crisis, "Dobrudzha" is set to visit "Marek" today, August 23, at 6:00 PM in a match from the fifth round of the Second League. The meeting will be played at the "Minyor" stadium in Pernik, as the "Bonchuk" stadium in Dupnitsa is undergoing renovations.
The coming weeks leading up to the General Assembly will be decisive for the club. The question for "Dobrudzha" is no longer just related to sporting results in the Second League, but to finding a model that will guarantee its very existence.
