Road sections in the South Industrial Zone of Varna are in critical condition, according to local residents and workers. Drivers complain of deep potholes and lack of repairs, which leads to vehicle damage and an increased risk of road accidents.

The area around Asparuhov Bridge, where dozens of companies are located, is heavily congested, but the infrastructure is severely worn. When it rains, large puddles form, and in places there is almost no asphalt, making movement difficult.

Those working in the area describe the route as an “off-road” zone, with repairs only once in the last approximately 25 years. Businesses in the area are even forced to partially maintain the road themselves due to a lack of institutional repairs.

The Varna municipality reports that a project is currently being implemented to repair part of the road network in the zone, but it does not cover the affected sections. An inspection is forthcoming, and if funds are available, ongoing repairs may be carried out. However, locals are insisting on a complete renovation of the surface, threatening their own actions to fill the potholes.
