Drastic Decline in Road Incidents in Bulgaria: Statistics for 2025

Official data from the Ministry of Interior reveals a decrease in road fatalities by 11 people compared to the previous year, with the total number of serious accidents reaching 357 for the past month.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has published alarming data on road traffic accidents nationwide. Over the past 24 hours, the statistics report two fatalities and 36 injured citizens, with 20 serious accidents recorded.

The capital region has registered 20 minor and four serious incidents, in which one person lost their life, and 11 sustained various injuries. The monthly statistics show a total of 357 serious road incidents with the tragic consequences of 24 fatalities and 483 injured.

The annual statistics of the Ministry of Internal Affairs document 4,140 serious accidents with an impressive 262 human casualties and 5,204 victims. The department notes a positive trend - 11 fewer fatalities compared to the same period in 2024, when the victims were 237.
