Sofia law enforcement prevented a bold attempt to illegally seize a commercial vehicle in the capital's center. The incident was discovered and neutralized with extremely quick and professional intervention by local police department employees.
According to official information from Deputy Chief Iliya Kuzmanov, criminal officers received a 112 telephone signal around 10:50 in the morning about an illegal seizure of a cargo van. The vehicle was loaded with fast-moving goods such as cigarettes and alcohol, and at the moment of the incident, one employee was inside the store, and another was in the cargo compartment.
The criminal managed to start the vehicle while one of the employees jumped out of the van. The police immediately took search actions, and within just 30 minutes located and blocked the vehicle in the area before "Vasil Levski" airport.
The detained perpetrator is a man around 35 years old, who was known to the police for previous actions related to submitting false signals. The van owner - Yordan Markov, expressed public gratitude to the law enforcement officers and shared that in his opinion, the detained person probably has mental deviations.
Markov categorically rejected the version that any of his employees could be involved in the theft attempt, describing the incident as extremely atypical for his company.
