The building, known as the Writers' House, located on "Vola" Street number 3 in Burgas, will be provided for management to the municipal enterprise "Summer Theater, Festivals and Concerts".

The decision was adopted today at a meeting of the Municipal Council in the seaside city.

The report, submitted by the Deputy Mayor for Finance, Budget, Economy and Maritime Affairs, comes a month after the councilors refused to renew the contract with the "Burgas Writers' Community" association, which until now had been using the premises free of charge.

The atmosphere in the meeting hall was tense when the question of the future of the building on "Vola" Street was raised again. Representatives of the "Self-awareness" society insist that they have rights to part of it, since the building was built by the Burgas Women's Society in 1934 for the children of Burgas.

The chairman of the association, Snezhana Stoyanova, stood before the tribune to state that the new proposal aims "to circumvent the previous decision of the council".

She insists that the building should be used equally by all writers' associations and cultural figures. More specifically, they want one of the premises in the building to be provided for meetings and classes organized by the society. In their request, they also include the placement of a portrait of Zheni Pateva, as it was until 1944 inclusive, noted Stoyanova.

During the discussions, the director of the "Municipal Property Management" directorate, Zhivko Dimitrov, clarified that the case with the use of the property should be considered through administrative channels and called on Stoyanova to submit specific requests to the municipality.

The Deputy Mayor for "Culture, Tourism and Sports", Diana Savateva, emphasized that the building will retain its cultural function. "The Writers' House remains a place for literary events, meetings and initiatives dedicated to the word and spirituality of Burgas," she said.
