Twenty-four hours filled with fire and a battle for survival.
The country's firefighters faced dozens of incidents, which once again proved the immense importance of their rapid response.
A total of 36 fires were extinguished in just 24 hours. The truth is that behind these dry statistics lie real human lives — two people were seriously injured and are currently fighting the consequences of the fiery element.
The grim statistics behind the flames
It turns out that the duty teams responded to an impressive 104 emergency calls. According to official data from the Chief Directorate "Fire Safety and Civil Protection", ten of the fires caused serious material damage, while the remaining 26 cases resulted mainly in a scare and burnt dry grass.
In addition to the direct clash with the fire, the rescuers also conducted a number of other complex operations. The teams reacted quickly to difficult situations:
- 14 rescue operations during disasters;
- 7 highly complex operations in transport vehicle accidents;
- Dozens of assistance operations in critical moments for citizens.
"Every second is precious when it comes to saving human lives. It is sad that there are still people who allow themselves to make false reports," officials from the department commented off-the-record, referring to the one hoax call registered during the 24-hour period.
This worrying statistic is yet another serious warning to all of us. Following safety rules is not just a tedious chore, but a matter of survival. Be vigilant and do not underestimate the power of fire, because prevention remains our most reliable weapon.
