The rain that fell this morning blocked almost all of Varna. Many residents of the city were unable to get to their workplaces on time. The columns of cars and the huge traffic jams made the drivers nervous.
The fallen rain caused huge puddles to form on the main boulevards in the city, which blocked traffic. Kilometric queues formed on the main boulevards. The Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology in Varna said that the 20 liters per square meter that fell are not so unusual for this season, but the manholes in the city failed to take in the water.
There are traffic jams with almost every heavy rain in the city. Varna Municipality reported three reports of serious floods. The underpass on the boulevards "Vasil Levski" and "Knyaz Boris I" was flooded. There was a flooded section of the road to the roundabout at the "Pochivka" stop. There was also a part of a flooded street in the "Asparuhovo" district. Varna Municipality added that measures have been taken to drain the sections.
