The Central Election Commission (CEC) announced that it will limit as much as possible the possibility of replacements of members of the section election commissions (SEC) before the upcoming elections. The Deputy Chairman of the CEC, Rositsa Mateva, explained that replacements will be allowed only with strict adherence to the requirements of the Electoral Code, and in case of refusal by a SEC member, a written statement with a handwritten signature is required.
The training of the section commissions will be held between Palm Sunday and Easter, or immediately before the elections, in order to be as effective as possible. The section protocol has been optimized, including visual improvements for easier entry of the voting results. A mobile application for electronic entry and verification of data is also being developed.
Changes in the sections abroad are also planned for the upcoming elections. In the UK, 28 sections will be opened, including seven at the embassy in London. In the US, there will be 24 sections, and in Turkey - 27. A significant increase in applications for voting abroad is noted, which will facilitate the process for voters.
