Alarming road safety data in Bulgaria
The past 24 hours have proven to be extremely difficult on Bulgarian roads. According to data from the Ministry of Interior, two people died and 37 others sustained injuries of varying severity in 30 road accidents.
Statistics show that since the beginning of the year, 196 people have died and 3,364 have been injured in 2,705 accidents.
Analysis of the situation since the beginning of the month
- 373 serious accidents have been registered since the beginning of the month.
- There have been 27 road fatalities during the current period.
- 483 road users have been injured.
The situation in Sofia
In the capital, the situation remains dynamic. A total of 30 accidents were registered – 25 minor and 5 serious. Fortunately, there were no fatalities in Sofia, but five people were hospitalized with injuries.
Comparative analysis
The comparison with the previous year, 2025, is particularly worrying. During the same period then, the death toll was 169, which means an increase of 27 more deaths in the current year. Experts are calling for increased caution and adherence to traffic rules in order to limit this grim statistic.
