Burgas – In one of the buildings on a central street in Burgas, an important change is being prepared that will have a direct impact on the lives of dozens of people in the city. With the aim of improving the quality of social services, the Municipality of Burgas is taking a decisive step aimed at expanding the material base of the Center for Social Rehabilitation and Integration of Persons with Mental Disorders (CSRIPMD). This initiative was met with full approval from the local government.
Unanimous Decision of the Municipal Council
At a meeting of the Municipal Council, the proposal for the expansion of the center was unanimously supported by all councilors, which underscores the public consensus on the matter. The decision is the result of a report that outlines the need for more space for the activities that CSRIPMD offers to its users.
The report, submitted for consideration, concerns the provision of three separate premises, each with its own bathroom. These premises, which are currently vacant, are located on the first floor of the municipal building at 19 Ivan Bogorov Street.
Their location in the heart of the city provides easy access for users and their families, creating a convenient and welcoming environment. The main goal of this expansion is to provide separate and specialized rooms for various activities. One of the key innovations is the creation of dedicated spaces for individual and group consultations, therapeutic sessions, and various trainings.
With this, the municipality aims to achieve full compliance with the Social Services Act and the high quality standards required in the industry. According to experts, these changes will allow for more complete and effective work with each user, guaranteeing a personalized approach and increasing the overall quality of support.
Established Institution with a Wide Range of Services
The center, which is at the heart of this initiative, is an established institution in the social life of Burgas. It has been operating since 2017 and already has an increased capacity of 55 users, providing a wide range of key services.
- Information and counseling
- Therapy and rehabilitation
- Advocacy and mediation
In addition, CSRIPMD actively assists its users in acquiring new skills and support for finding employment, which is essential for their reintegration into society. The expansion of the material base is an important step that demonstrates the commitment of the local government to providing a modern and specialized environment. The provision of the new premises will enable the Center to respond more effectively to the growing needs of people with mental disorders, thereby contributing significantly to their rehabilitation and full integration into society. This decision is a clear sign that the municipality continues to invest in the humane and social development of the city.
