In the Tsarevo municipality, an important measure is forthcoming to enhance the safety of elderly people living in their homes. The press center of the local Municipality announced that smoke detectors will be installed in the homes of elderly people who use firewood for heating.
The initiative, undertaken jointly by the Tsarevo Municipality and the "Fire Safety and Population Protection" - Tsarevo Regional Service, aims to increase the security of vulnerable elderly people living alone in remote settlements. Residents of these areas are often more vulnerable, especially during the winter months, when temperatures drop and heating becomes critically important.
The detectors were purchased thanks to the financial support of the Tsarevo Municipality. This aims to prevent and limit incidents related to fires, which are often more likely during the winter period. This season traditionally brings with it a higher risk of fires due to the need to use heating appliances.
The sound emitted by the smoke detectors is intended to wake up the occupants in the event of a fire or smoke. In addition, the alarm will alert the neighbors, giving them the opportunity to react and provide assistance. In case of fire, a quick reaction can be crucial for saving human lives and limiting material damage.
The installation of these devices will be carried out next week with the help of the mayors and the mayoral representatives in the settlements. The procedure is simple and quick, thus ensuring additional protection for the elderly.
BTA recalls that in the reports of the Regional Health Inspectorate in Burgas it is stated that on the territory of the Tsarevo municipality the main air pollutants are from heating for communal and household needs with solid fuels. This information highlights the need to take safety measures and improve the living conditions for the population.
