Authorities in Burgas report readiness for the fire season after nearly 30,000 decares burned in 2025. The main causes are human negligence and climate change.

Preparation for the fire hazard season in Burgas

From March 15 to October 31, the Burgas region is in a state of high readiness to combat forest and field fires. At a briefing held at the District Administration, it was made clear that the institutions have brought their structures to full readiness following extensive inspections throughout the year.

"The cause of the fires is almost 100 percent human activity, human negligence, and human irresponsibility," stated Stanimir Sotirov from the South-East State Enterprise.
