The Mayor of Burgas, Dimitar Nikolov, called on “Burgasbus” to correct the ticket price after the NRA (National Revenue Agency) found an economically unjustified increase. The inspection for compliance with the Euro Introduction Act showed a 4% price increase.
During the discussion of the price increase by the municipal councilors, various motives were put forward: increasing maintenance costs, higher fuel and electricity prices, as well as an increase in the minimum wage. Some councilors expressed doubts about the expediency of the increase at the present time, while others supported it, pointing out the need for profit for the company.
In the end, the report was adopted, but with some tension and different opinions from the municipal councilors.
