New standards for child development in preschool education
Deputy Minister of Education and Science Dr. Tanya Pancheva held a meeting with pedagogical specialists in Karlovo to discuss key changes in the preschool education system. The main focus of the discussion is the introduction of a unified toolkit for tracking children's development.
"For the first time, we are introducing a consistent model at the preschool age, through which development will be monitored, including the level of proficiency in the Bulgarian language," noted Dr. Pancheva.
Why are these changes necessary?
- Uniform methodology: Teachers will work according to standardized criteria.
- Early diagnosis: A child's individual progress will be tracked from the moment they enter kindergarten.
- Prevention: The goal is to avoid learning gaps before the child enters the primary stage of school.
During her visit, the Deputy Minister also visited the "Pervi Yuni" Kindergarten in Karlovo on the occasion of the educational institution's 50th anniversary, highlighting the good material base and the efforts of the pedagogical team.
