A new symbol of freedom in Targovishte

On the occasion of the 189th anniversary of the birth of Vasil Levski, a new monument to the Apostle was solemnly unveiled in Targovishte. The event was attended by Vice President Iliana Iotova, who emphasized the importance of Levski as the spiritual leader of the nation.

"Fear, lack of self-confidence, and betrayal are the greatest enemies of Bulgarian freedom," Iotova stated in her speech.

The Vice President highlighted the need for today's Bulgarians, especially young people, to draw inspiration from Levski's ideas of legality and equality. The monument is the work of sculptor Iliya Ivanov with the support of architects Vichka Stoyanova and Zhivka Milanova.

According to Iliana Iotova, the monument is not just a statue, but a place for measuring one's personal morality against the great personality of Levski.
