Burgas pays tribute to Vasil Levski: 189 years since the Apostle's birth

On July 18, Burgas will mark the 189th anniversary of the birth of Vasil Levski with a solemn ceremony, military honors, and a wreath-laying at the Seaside Park.

Solemn celebration in memory of the Apostle

The citizens of Burgas will gather for a city-wide pilgrimage to honor the life and work of Vasil Levski – the brightest figure in Bulgarian history and a symbol of our national freedom. July 18th marks the 189th anniversary of the great Bulgarian's birth.

"The Apostle remains an enduring example of patriotism, moral strength, and selfless service to the national ideal."

The Municipality of Burgas invites citizens and guests of the city to the official military honors ceremony, which will take place in front of the Apostle's monument in the Sea Garden.

Event Program:

Representatives of state and local authorities, military personnel, public organizations, and students will take part in the ritual. All attendees will have the opportunity to lay wreaths and flowers as a sign of appreciation for the work of Vasil Levski, whose ideals continue to inspire generations of Bulgarians.
