The Burgas Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior reports increased police activity. Numerous crimes, traffic accidents, and traffic violations, including drunk driving incidents, have been registered. Details are in the report.

Burgas, September 15, 2025 – The Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Burgas reported a busy day marked by numerous registered crimes and road accidents.

The information, published in a press release, describes the dynamic operational activity of the police officers in the region. According to the report, during the past 24 hours, one theft and one road accident (RTA) were registered, and five police proceedings were initiated. The most notable aspect is the uncovering of a total of eight crimes affecting various areas of criminal activity in the region.

Solved Crimes

Among the solved crimes, several cases related to driving motor vehicles under the influence of alcohol stand out.

In the early hours of September 9, officers from the Tsarevo Police Department stopped a "Ford Maverick" car near the "Lukoil" checkpoint on the Tsarevo – Burgas road. A 46-year-old driver from Burgas was detained for 24 hours after it was found that he was driving with 1.55 ppm of alcohol in his blood. A fast-track proceeding has been initiated in this case.

Another case, registered in Pomorie, revealed the illegal cultivation of narcotics. In a private house on "Tutkhol" street, inhabited by two German citizens residing in Bulgaria, nine cannabis plants, approximately 150 grams of dry cannabis, and about 30 grams of hashish were found and seized. The 71-year-old woman was detained for 24 hours, and a fast-track proceeding has been initiated in this case.

A third incident covered in the report involves a serious traffic violation by a 48-year-old man from Shumen. In the parking lot between block 59 and block 60 in the "Slaveykov" complex in Burgas, he caused an RTA with a "Ford Transit" camper van with Sofia registration. The alcohol test showed driving with 3.04 ppm of alcohol in the blood. The driver was detained for 24 hours, and his vehicle was seized. A fast-track proceeding has been initiated.

In addition to the cases of traffic violations, the information also includes a registered RTA. On September 9, at approximately 15:05, at the intersection of "Knyaz Boris I" and "Bulair" streets in Pomorie, a collision occurred between a "Yamaha" motorcycle with Kardzhali registration and a "Dacia" car with Burgas registration. A 19-year-old female motorcyclist sustained minor injuries and was examined at UMBAL – Burgas. Incorrect overtaking was cited as the cause of the accident.

The report also contains sad information about a fatal incident. On September 9, at approximately 12:25, a message was received in Primorsko about the drowning of a 56-year-old man from Veliki Preslav. The incident occurred on the northern beach, in front of post No. 1. The body was taken for autopsy to the "Forensic Medicine" department at UMBAL – Burgas, and a pre-trial proceeding has been initiated.
