For the fourth consecutive year, Burgas hosted an international business forum, establishing the city as a key center for the development of trade and economic relations in the region. The event aims to encourage partnerships between businesses in Bulgaria, Turkey, and Romania, and to deepen existing strategic ties between the three countries.
The forum was opened by the Mayor of Burgas, Dimitar Nikolov, who emphasized the importance of regional cooperation in modern conditions. Guests included ambassadors and representatives of chambers of commerce.
Mayor Nikolov highlighted Bulgaria's membership in Schengen and the need for infrastructure projects. The strong presence of Turkish companies in Burgas was noted, especially in the transport, logistics, and trade sectors, with growing interest in investments in production. The municipality is developing industrial zones with over 40 companies.
Emphasis was placed on the development of high-tech industries. The Mayor held a meeting with the Rector of Kırklareli University, where opportunities for cooperation in education and science were discussed. Joint educational programs and student exchanges were discussed. Interest was expressed in partnering with Bulgarian higher education institutions.
