The Municipal Council in Burgas took a decisive step towards strengthening the sports infrastructure in the city, unanimously approving the municipal administration's proposal for a large-scale investment in this area. The decision, which received the full support of the councilors, envisages the implementation of a key project within the framework of the National Program for shared project funding, administered by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The focus of the program will be directed towards the modernization of the "Slaveykov" sports center, a key facility that plays an important role in the city's sports life. According to plans, in the coming years, a series of significant improvements are planned to be carried out, which will transform the appearance and functionality of the complex.
Among the planned activities is the replacement of the existing spotlights with new, energy-saving LED lighting. This will not only contribute to reducing operating costs, but will also improve the visibility of the sports fields, which is essential for holding high-level competitions. In addition, the project includes a complete renovation of the high jump sector, as well as the renewal of the run-up track. The sports complex will also acquire a renovated shot put sector, which will create optimal conditions for training and competitions in athletics. The renovation of the athletics track is another key element of the project, which will guarantee the safety and effectiveness of the training process. The finalization of the planned improvements will be supported by the delivery and installation of professional athletics equipment.
Obviously, the implementation of these activities will lead to a significant improvement in the conditions for training and holding sports competitions. The decision of the municipal council reflects the growing need to modernize the sports infrastructure, which will offer citizens more opportunities for sports and an active lifestyle.
