Today, starting at 10:00 AM in the National Press Club of BTA in the capital, the new rubric of the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency (BTA) “Giro d’Italia 2026 - WITH A BIKE IN BULGARIA” will be presented. The event will be attended by the General Director of BTA Kiril Valchev, Deputy General Director Evgenia Drumeva, the Director of the “Sport” Department Dimitar Veljov, as well as the caretaker ministers of youth and sports Dimitar Iliev and of tourism Irena Georgieva.
Participants include mayors of Sofia, Veliko Tarnovo, Burgas, Plovdiv, and Nessebar, the chairman of the Bulgarian Cycling Federation, the secretary of the Association of Bicycle Manufacturers in Bulgaria, and the general directors of BNT and BNR.
In 2026, Bulgaria will host the Grande Partenza of the 109th edition of the Giro d’Italia. The route includes three stages: Nessebar - Burgas (May 8), Burgas - Veliko Tarnovo (May 9), and Plovdiv - Sofia (May 10).
