The Bulgarian Telegraph Agency (BTA) will partner with the congress of the European SPA Association (ESPA), which will be held from May 11 to 13 in Varna and the resorts of St. St. Constantine and Helena, Golden Sands, and Albena. The event, which is organized in the year of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the BSBSPA, aims to show European politicians the unique advantage of Bulgaria in the field of mineral waters and SPA medicine.

The General Director of BTA, Kiril Valchev, noted that Bulgaria has enormous potential for the development of health tourism, thanks to the largest number of mineral springs in continental Europe after Iceland. Dr. Siika Katsarova, President of ESPA and Chairman of BSBSPA, emphasized that the congress will bring together specialists from all over the world and will present good practices in health tourism, including SPA, wellness, and medical tourism. B2B meetings with hosted buyers will also be held, with a focus on dental clinics.

BTA will produce a series of materials on health tourism in Bulgarian and English, and will also publish a specialized edition of the magazine LIK in 2026, which will be distributed among the delegates. The agency noted that BTA was a partner of the congress in Estonia in 2025 and has a long-standing partnership with BSBSPA, which includes systematic coverage of events from SPA, balneo and climatic resorts in Bulgaria.
