The UK government takes a decisive step towards ecological transformation of the transport sector by introducing an innovative electric mobility support scheme. The initiative provides direct financial incentives up to £3,750 for purchasing electric vehicles valued under £37,000.

The Ministry of Transport announced the details of the ambitious program, which includes differentiated funding in three main areas. A primary focus is the allocation of £25 million for home charging stations, supplemented by £30 million for building corporate and logistics charging infrastructure.

The head of the transport department, Heidi Alexander, emphasized the strategic goal of the project - gradual reduction of carbon emissions and creating market conditions for mass electric vehicle penetration. The program is conceived as a direct response to the financial support mechanisms terminated in 2022.

Experts expect the initiative to generate significant interest among consumers and manufacturers, while simultaneously catalyzing decarbonization processes in the automotive sector. The financial incentives are planned to be in effect until the end of the 2028-2029 financial year.
