The Bulgarian Farmers' Union (BFU) has sent a letter to the caretaker Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov regarding the risk of termination of Bulgaria's membership in “Copa-Cogeca”, the union's press center announced.

The reason is the lack of funds to pay the membership fee of Bulgarian agricultural producers. The BFU emphasizes the strategic importance of membership for the presence and influence of Bulgarian agriculture in the EU.

“Copa-Cogeca” is a key organization for farmers and cooperatives in the EU, providing direct access to the decision-making processes at the European level. Through it, direct communication is carried out with the European Commission and the European Parliament.

The BFU is calling for a meeting with the Prime Minister to discuss the importance of membership and the possibilities for sustainable participation in Copa-Cogeca.

We remind you that last month the BFU held a meeting with the caretaker Minister of Agriculture and Food Ivan Hristanov, at which the main problems in Bulgarian agriculture were presented.
