Rumen Radev: Bulgaria will not support sanctions against Russia that harm our economy

Prime Minister Rumen Radev stated that Bulgaria will approach new sanctions against Russia with caution in order to avoid a negative impact on the Bulgarian economy and energy sector.

Bulgaria upholds its national interest regarding the new sanctions against Russia

Prime Minister Rumen Radev announced to journalists that our country will not allow the imposition of sanctions against Russia that would have a negative impact on the Bulgarian economy. The statement was made during the National Meeting of local and central authorities in Sofia.

"You will find out today how Bulgaria will vote, once I discuss all the details with my colleagues in the EU," the Prime Minister stated.

The position on sanctions against Patriarch Kirill

Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova-Chamova confirmed that Bulgaria is skeptical about symbolic measures, such as the sanctions against the Russian Patriarch Kirill.
