Bulgaria upholds its national interest regarding the new sanctions against Russia
Prime Minister Rumen Radev announced to journalists that our country will not allow the imposition of sanctions against Russia that would have a negative impact on the Bulgarian economy. The statement was made during the National Meeting of local and central authorities in Sofia.
"You will find out today how Bulgaria will vote, once I discuss all the details with my colleagues in the EU," the Prime Minister stated.
The position on sanctions against Patriarch Kirill
Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova-Chamova confirmed that Bulgaria is skeptical about symbolic measures, such as the sanctions against the Russian Patriarch Kirill.
Summit in Brussels
EU leaders are gathering for a two-day forum, where the main topics will be:
- The situation in Ukraine and the participation of Volodymyr Zelenskyy;
- The long-term budget of the European Union;
- Global economic challenges facing member states.
