The management of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) initiated preparation for a large-scale business visit to the Kingdom of Morocco, which is expected to be realized in the last quarter of the current year. The strategic meeting dedicated to this plan was held with the participation of key representatives from the business community.
During the working meeting, Ivan Tomov - head of the Trade and Economic Affairs Office in Morocco, Tsvetan Simeonov - chairman of BCCI, and Petar Petrov - executive director of "Atlas Balkan" Ltd. were present. The experts discussed the potential for deepening bilateral economic relations.
Preliminary studies show significant interest from the Moroccan side in such partnership initiatives. BCCI will coordinate the delegation's preparation together with the diplomatic representations of the two countries, with the planned visit scheduled for the end of October.
Tomov presented a detailed analysis of the economic situation, emphasizing Morocco's stable development as a reliable partner in the Euro-Mediterranean region. The expert highlighted the potential for future cooperation in areas such as economy, education, and cultural exchange.
As an interesting fact, the existence of a sister city relationship between Zagora in Morocco and the Bulgarian city of Stara Zagora was shared, which further emphasizes the historical and cultural ties between the two countries.
According to official data from the Ministry of Economy and Industry, trade exchange between Bulgaria and Morocco in 2024 reaches 361.4 million US dollars, which represents an 8% growth compared to the previous year. Particularly impressive is the Bulgarian export, which marks an increase of 16.2%.
