Expert teams from Bulgaria and the USA held talks regarding our country's progress in joining the US Visa Waiver Program.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Bulgarian institutions within the interdepartmental working group, led by Bulgaria's national coordinator for the program, Dimana Dramova, as well as experts from the US State Department and the Department of Homeland Security.
During the talks, excellent bilateral cooperation and Bulgaria's significant progress were noted. Among the key results are the finalization of the necessary bilateral legal framework, the strengthening of procedures to prevent abuse, and the expansion of coordination in the area of border security and information exchange.
Bulgaria continues to work to meet all requirements for inclusion in the Program, including the criterion of achieving a percentage of refusals for issuing tourist and business visas to the US below 3%.
