BNRA issued a license for the decommissioning of units III and IV of Kozloduy NPP

The Bulgarian Nuclear Regulatory Agency granted a 10-year license to SE RAW for the safe dismantling and decommissioning of units 3 and 4 of Kozloduy NPP.

A new stage in the management of nuclear facilities

The Chairman of the Nuclear Regulatory Agency (NRA), Tsanko Bachiyski, officially presented the license for the decommissioning of units 3 and 4 of the Kozloduy NPP.

The document has a validity period of 10 years and regulates the activities carried out by the State Enterprise Radioactive Waste (SERAW).

The license was issued to the Specialized Division "Decommissioning 1-4" of SERAW. The official presentation ceremony was attended by Elisaveta Mladenova, Deputy Executive Director of SERAW, and Sergey Tsochev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the state enterprise.

Safety as a top priority

The regulator emphasizes that nuclear safety remains the leading priority over all other aspects of the decommissioning activities for the units.
