21 Bulgarian Scientists and Students with Training at Leading Universities in the USA in 2024-2025

A total of 21 Bulgarians participated in the "Fulbright" program in the USA during the 2024-2025 academic year. The focus was on educational management, law, engineering, natural sciences, etc., contributing to the exchange of knowledge and academic experience. Dr. Chervenkov and Plamen Galinov are among the prominent participants. The program supports the development of the Bulgarian academic potential and offers opportunities for training and collaboration in the USA.

A total of 21 Bulgarian students, doctoral students and scientists participated in the "Fulbright" program at prestigious universities in the USA during the 2024-2025 academic year.

The educational exchange covered key areas such as educational management, law, engineering, natural sciences, social sciences, arts and technology. The goal was the exchange of knowledge, academic experience and good practices to be applied in the Bulgarian educational and scientific environment.

Among the participants in the program is Dr. Sotir Chervenkov, who conducted research in the field of physics at the University of California, San Diego. His developments were related to ultrashort laser pulses and have a direct application in modern science and technology.

Plamen Galinov, holder of the Fulbright Bulgarian Leaders scholarship, obtained a master's degree in computer science at Cornell University. The acquired knowledge and international contacts contribute to the development of the technology sector in Bulgaria.

All scholarship holders return to Bulgaria after their training, thus applying the acquired knowledge and international experience to build the country's academic potential.

Bulgarian teachers can apply for scholarships under the "Fulbright" - Bulgaria program for the improvement of media literacy.

The Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement (FTEA) program is aimed at teachers in middle and high school in Bulgarian, English or another foreign language, mathematics, natural or social sciences or resource teachers in these subjects. The application deadline is March 25, 2026.
