Fifty-five fires were extinguished in the country during the past 24 hours, the General Directorate "Fire Safety and Protection of the Population" (GDPSPC) announced on its website. One person was reported injured.
The increased number of fire reports required intense work from firefighters across the country. A total of 104 incident reports were received on the fire department's emergency phone.
The situation in Varna is particularly worrying. At 13:17 local time, the fire department received a report of a fire in an apartment in the residential complex "Vladislav Varnenchik", one of the large districts of the seaside city. Two firefighting teams responded to the scene to extinguish the fire. The injured person is 68 years old.
Fires with direct material damage were registered – a total of 26. They occurred in various locations, including residential buildings, auxiliary and temporary structures, as well as in vehicles. 29 fires were extinguished without material damage.
In addition to fighting the fire, firefighters also participated in other rescue operations. During the past 24 hours, 46 rescue activities and support operations were carried out. The teams assisted in accidents, provided technical assistance to employees of the Ministry of Interior, and participated in animal rescue operations.
According to data from the GDPSPC, three false calls were registered during the same period.
