38 fires extinguished over the past 24 hours
The General Directorate for Fire Safety and Population Protection (GDFSPP) reported that a total of 38 fires were extinguished over the last 24 hours. Fortunately, there were no deaths or injuries reported in the incidents.
Serious incident in the capital
A fire broke out in an abandoned warehouse in Sofia, where tires, plastic bottles, and car parts were stored. The fire was brought under control by five teams from the Sofia fire department with five fire engines.
Incident statistics
- With direct material damage: 13 fires (residential buildings, structures, and vehicles).
- Without material damage: 25 fires (waste, dry grass, chimneys, and cooking appliances).
- General activity: Firefighters responded to 73 calls, including 31 rescue operations, accidents, and emergencies.
There were also 4 recorded cases of false alarms. The teams continue to provide technical assistance to the public as needed.
