29 fires and 1 injured in 24 hours: Be careful with kitchen stoves

The General Directorate for Fire Safety and Civil Protection reported 115 incident alerts over the last 24 hours. An 86-year-old woman was injured in a fire in the Pazardzhik region. Learn more about the causes and how to stay safe.

Fire brigade activity over the past 24 hours

A total of 29 fires were extinguished over the past 24 hours, according to data from the General Directorate for Fire Safety and Civil Protection (GDFSCP). Unfortunately, one citizen was reported injured in the incidents.

Negligence when handling cooking appliances remains one of the main causes of residential fires resulting in material damage.

Rescue activities and assistance operations

In addition to extinguishing fires, the GDFSCP teams carried out 84 rescue activities, 19 of which were in disaster situations and 4 during road accidents.

We remind citizens to be especially careful when using electrical and gas appliances in order to avoid dangerous situations and risks to health.
