25.6 million euros for infrastructure projects of API

The caretaker government secured 25.6 million euros for API projects, financed by the "Transport Connectivity" program 2021–2027. The funds are earmarked for 2026 and will be used to pay for completed works.

By decision of the outgoing Council of Ministers, nearly 25.6 million euros are provided for capital expenditures on projects of the Road Infrastructure Agency (API), the government press office announced.

The funds, amounting to 25,564,594.06 euros, are provided for in the budget of the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works (MRDPW) for 2026 and will be used to pay for activities carried out on API projects. The sites are strategic and of essential importance for improving the quality of transport infrastructure and for ensuring safe and quality road connections.

The financing is at the expense of verified and reimbursed expenses under the "Transport Connectivity" program 2021–2027. After the adoption and entry into force of the Law on the State Budget of the Republic of Bulgaria for 2026, the corresponding changes will be made to the MRDPW budget in accordance with the Public Finance Act, the decision of the outgoing government also states. 

At the end of 2025, the outgoing Regional Minister Ivan Ivanov announced that a record collection of revenue from road tolls had been recorded, amounting to over one billion leva.
