John Atanasoff Award 2026: Open Call for Young Talents
The President of the Republic of Bulgaria has announced the deadline for participation in the prestigious John Atanasoff Award competition – September 9, 2026. The initiative, launched in 2003, aims to recognize the outstanding achievements of Bulgarian scientists and students in the field of computer science.
The initiative is named after the world-famous inventor of Bulgarian descent John Atanasoff, creator of the first electronic digital computer with regenerative memory.
Competition Categories:
- Young Scientists: For researchers up to 35 years of age.
- Students and Teachers: For successes in Olympiads in informatics, AI, and IT.
- Project with High Social Impact: For significant IT projects implemented in Bulgaria.
- Debut Breakthrough: For students with their first scientific research papers.
- Inspirer and Talent Creator: For teachers and mentors who have contributed to education.
