Burgas Regional Court has jailed a driver for 11 years over a car crash near Pomorie that killed two people and injured four, the court said.
The crash happened on 8 November 2023 at km 226+400 in Pomorie municipality, on a stretch outside a built-up area where the speed limit is 90 km/h. The court found the defendant's car was travelling at 132.80 km/h.
It found the driver guilty of breaking traffic rules by speeding and of causing, through negligence, the deaths of two people and injuries to four others.
He will serve his sentence under a general regime. The court also banned him from driving for 12 years.
The court also ruled that the car involved in the crash will become state property.
