A Motorway Company worker died on the 49th kilometre of the Trakia motorway, heading towards Burgas, while securing the scene of another crash, road expert Diana Rusinova said.
It was one of several incidents on the motorway this afternoon, and traffic towards Burgas is slow. At the 49th kilometre the fast lane is fully closed, and cars can use only the middle lane and the hard shoulder. Traffic police are directing vehicles there.
Two more incidents happened between the 47th and 48th kilometres. One car flipped onto its roof on the carriageway. On the same stretch there was also a collision with another vehicle, and an ambulance crew was sent to the scene.
The Road Infrastructure Agency and the traffic police called on drivers to take care, keep their distance and follow the limits and the instructions of the officers on duty.
At the 27th kilometre towards Burgas, a car caught fire and burned out completely. Firefighters and police are at the scene. The fast lane is closed, and traffic police are directing vehicles.
