Police have detained a 34-year-old driver in the village of Dabnik, near Pomorie, after a drug test showed amphetamine and methamphetamine, Burgas regional police said. His car was seized.
Officers from the Pomorie police station stopped a Seat Ibiza with Burgas plates at about 11pm on 13 October. The driver lives in the village.
Officers tested him on the spot with a testing device, which showed two substances. The man refused to give blood and urine for lab analysis, so there is no laboratory result.
There are no reports of a crash, injuries or dangerous manoeuvres.
Amphetamine and methamphetamine are different substances, but both are stimulants. They can impair a driver's judgment, focus and reactions and put other road users at risk.
A day earlier, on 13 October, Pomorie police also stopped a 60-year-old driver from the town with 1.04 per mille of alcohol. He also refused to give blood and urine for lab analysis, and fast-track proceedings have been opened against him.
The man is being held for up to 24 hours. Fast-track proceedings have been opened against him, and the evidence from the check will be reviewed in them.
