The Ministry of Agriculture has launched the harvest campaign with a focus on Bulgaria's stable position as a producer of high-quality grain.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food officially opened the 2025 harvest campaign with a national event in the village of Tsar-Petrovo, Vidin. Deputy Ministers Yanislav Yanchev and Ivan Kapitanov expressed support for the efforts of the farmers and emphasized the stable positions of the country as a producer of high-quality grain.

The official opening of the 2025 harvest campaign took place in the village of Tsar-Petrovo, Vidin region, with the participation of the Deputy Ministers of Agriculture and Food Ivan Kapitanov and Yanislav Yanchev. They congratulated all farmers and expressed support for their efforts in the new campaign.

Deputy Minister Yanchev announced that the forecasts are for a harvest of good quality in wheat, with expected yields over 6 million tons, and around 900 thousand tons in barley. He emphasized that our country maintains stable positions as a producer of quality grain, which provides both the domestic market and export potential.

Regarding trade relations with countries like Ukraine, Deputy Minister Yanchev commented that the ministry maintains a constant dialogue with the sector and receives regular analyses showing stabilization of the market situation.

In turn, Deputy Minister Kapitanov defined the opening of the harvest as a key moment in the annual calendar of the "Grain Production" sector. He pointed out that work is being done to ensure the rhythm and predictability of payments to farmers, as well as to protect the harvest and improve the production capacity through the expansion of hail protection and the repair of the hydro-melioration infrastructure.

At the end of the event, the two Deputy Ministers wished for a healthy, fruitful and successful year to all Bulgarian farmers. The ceremony was also attended by other key figures from the sector, including the Deputy Regional Governor of Vidin, the Executive Director of the State Fund "Agriculture" and the Chairman of the National Association of Grain Producers.
