Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry Doncho Barbalov attended the official opening of the new medical equipment production center of the Czech company BTL Industries in Plovdiv. The new production base is located on an area of over 29 acres, and the investment is worth nearly 100 million BGN, ranking among the most significant Czech investments in Bulgaria.

BTL Industries, which has been developing production in Plovdiv for 27 years, is a world leader in the development and production of medical equipment for physiotherapy, cardiology and aesthetic medicine. Its new production base in Bulgaria will provide over 700 jobs for highly qualified specialists and is the company's only logistics center, from which over 40,000 medical devices are shipped annually to more than 120 countries around the world. It is expected that in the next few years, an additional 500 jobs will be created.

After the official opening of the factory, a meeting was held with representatives of the business, executive and local authorities. Issues were discussed on how the state can be more effective and support the business. Deputy Minister Barbalov presented the role of the Commercial and Economic Affairs Services (CIAS) at the Ministry of Economy and Industry in supporting Bulgarian businesses abroad. He noted that CIAS provides Bulgarian companies with valuable information on foreign markets, business partners and investment opportunities.

Among the official guests at the opening ceremony of the factory in Plovdiv were the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Bulgaria Miroslav Toman, the Chairman of the Bulgarian-Czech Chamber of Commerce Maxim Behar, and representatives of the executive and local authorities.
