According to the operational information of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the total combat losses of the Russian army from the beginning of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022 to June 15, 2025 amount to 200,000 killed, wounded and captured servicemen. Also destroyed are 3,700 tanks, 7,200 armored combat vehicles, 3,000 artillery systems, 600 multiple rocket launchers, 359 air defense systems, 3,500 motor vehicles and tankers, 83 combat aircraft, 188 helicopters and 14 ships/boats.
At the same time, the Ukrainian armed forces have liberated over 65% of the territory initially occupied by Russian troops. By mid-June 2025, the Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as well as parts of the Kharkiv and Mykolaiv regions, are already under the control of Ukraine. Fierce battles continue for the complete liberation of Ukrainian land.
The General Staff emphasizes that despite significant losses, the Russian army still has a large resource of people and equipment, which is why the conflict continues to be extremely fierce. However, the Ukrainian forces show high combat readiness and motivation, successfully repelling attacks and reclaiming more and more territories.
According to analysts, if current trends continue, Ukraine has a good chance of achieving the complete liberation of the occupied areas within the next 12-18 months. However, this will require continuous military and financial support from the Western allies.
