The prestigious Burgas International Film Festival (BIFF) marks its tenth anniversary with an impressive program that places musical creativity at the epicenter of cinema. On July 14, 2025, the cultural community will have a rare opportunity to immerse themselves in the creative world of one of the most significant contemporary European composers.
Adam Balázs - a name that transcends Hungary's national borders, will present his professional experience to a Bulgarian audience. His creative biography includes music for internationally recognized films, among which the Golden Bear winner "On Body and Soul", as well as "Come, Sing", "The Story of My Wife", "Prisoners" and other acclaimed titles.
The masterclass promises an in-depth exploration of film music processes. Participants will have the unique opportunity to learn more about the challenges of working with different genres, sources of inspiration, and the creative pursuits of a world-renowned composer.
The event is structured in two main parts. On July 13 at 4:00 PM, the film "Prisoners" by director Krisztof Deák will be screened, followed by a short Q&A session with Balázs. The actual masterclass will be held on July 14 at 8:00 PM at the NHK Cultural Center in Burgas, with a planned duration between 60 and 120 minutes.
The working language will be English, and the event moderator is Svetoslav Todorov. The initiative is realized with financial support from the European Union through the NextGenerationEU program, the Municipality of Burgas, and the National Film Center.
