Sunny Beach became the epicenter of an unconventional educational experience when tenth-graders from the specialized high school "Ivan Vazov" transformed Nessebar into an interactive classroom. The multidisciplinary approach united English, Russian language, and history in a unique educational experiment under the banner "Nessebar - Past, Present, and Future".
The young researchers undertook an in-depth journey through the ages, literally touching the cultural heritage of ancient Mesembria. The Archaeological Museum, ancient churches, and the impressive "St. Sofia" Basilica became living witnesses to their intellectual curiosity.
Guided by teachers Emilia Koleva and Christina Andreeva, the students developed a comprehensive analysis that went beyond traditional textbook boundaries. Interactive activities and targeted discussions transformed an ordinary lesson into a deeply emotional and cognitive experience.
The team of the Archaeological Museum "Ancient Nessebar" further enriched the educational expedition by providing authentic context and expert support. Participants were able to understand Nessebar not just as a geographical concept, but as a living memory and source of inspiration.
The end result exceeded expectations - tenth-graders developed key competencies such as critical thinking, cultural awareness, and the ability to take an interdisciplinary approach. This innovative educational model demonstrates how history can come alive outside the classroom.
