Modern educational and sports facilities for students in the village of Skravena

The newly built educational and sports facilities at the Primary School "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" in the village of Skravena were officially opened by the Minister of Education and Science Krasimir Valchev. Among the guests at the ceremonial event were the Mayor of Botevgrad Municipality Ivan Gavaliugov, the Mayor of Skravena Gergana Minkova, the Deputy Regional Governor of Sofia Region Tanya Ivanova, the Head of the Regional Education Inspectorate of Sofia Region Rositsa Ivanova, and others.

Minister Valchev emphasized that every school should improve its material base and build upon it. He pointed out that it is important for children to be physically active, as students who do sports and study perform better in their lessons than those who only study.

The funds for the renovation of the sports hall amount to 597,300 BGN and are provided under the MES Program for the construction and major repair of sports facilities and gymnasiums. During the opening, students demonstrated their talent in gymnastics and folk dances.

The new STEM center for mathematics and informatics is equipped with modern computer equipment and provides opportunities for online work, as well as for conducting activities related to logic and arithmetic. The funds for the construction of the STEM center amount to 136,350 BGN and are provided under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP).

According to the plans of the Ministry of Education and Science for the period 2024 - 2027, a total of 167 schools in the country will build new or renovate their existing sports facilities.
